Large, simplified flowers rise through New Mexico Drawing #13, their dotted centers set against a dense field of vertical stripes -using abstract repetition to convey unknown, insignificant to the drawing space. A curving, pebble-like passage moves through the foreground, bordered by rounded, spiked, and linear botanical forms. Rather than describe a garden realistically, the drawing rebuilds it through contrasts: delicate and bold, natural and geometric, still and vibrating. The result is an exuberant landscape held together by rhythm and repetition.
Part of Calvin Brett's New Mexico series, where city parks and mountain landscapes are simplified into repeated lines, dots, and rhythm. 10" x 10" open-edition print, reproduced from an original drawing. Unsigned, unframed. Free U.S. shipping, 30-day returns, and every purchase supports Calvin's art practice and reforestation with Trees for the Future.
