New Mexico Drawing #12 organizes the landscape into distinct layers of pattern. Blue-and-white bands cross the upper field, a dense row of wood-grain vertical forms occupies the middle, and radiating flowers emerge from foreground. Each area carries its own tempo, yet the repeated lines connect them into a unified visual rhythm. The drawing shifts freely between sky, barrier, garden, and abstraction without settling into a single realistic view. This was inspired by a view from a homeless shelter in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Part of Calvin Brett's New Mexico series, where city parks and mountain landscapes are simplified into repeated lines, dots, and rhythm. 10" x 10" open-edition print, reproduced from an original drawing. Unsigned, unframed. Free U.S. shipping, 30-day returns, and every purchase supports Calvin's art practice and reforestation with Trees for the Future.
